It is located in Kogi State. Its capacity is 600MW and its type is CFB Tech Coal. Future Expansion: 1200MW. The first phase of the project (Itobe 1 (2 x 150MW)) cost is estimated at US$1.2 billion.

Power is critical to national development, yet we start a power project and we do not complete it. Often the money we expend on these uncompleted projects are loans that we get to pay back even when they were not used for anything of significance.

So many delays on this project. Don't even know if it's still ongoing or it's been abandoned.
This project has the potential to help lots of Nigerian businesses, but it's just been gulping public funds without an end product.
