The Bodo-Bony road is a milestone infrastructure as it is the first road link between Bonny Island - which is a key industrial area in Nigeria and the rest of Rivers State. The project is expected to reduce the cost of oil production and other economic businesses in Rivers State. This pioneer project is also a model for financing collaboration between the private and public sectors, thanks to the special contractual conditions of 50% funding by Nigeria LNG Limited. The project is being handled by Julius Berger and the scope includes building a 37.9 kilometers long road across swamp terrain and 17 small and large bridges. The construction project began in June 2017 and is expected to be completed in December 2022, with a total budget cost of 200B naira.
